OUR TEAM:

Linda Mycek is owner and operator of Curlew Seed and Curlew Forestry. She is a botanist and an ecologist with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with Botany option, cum laude, from Washington State University, and  Master of Science Degree in Ecosystem Analysis from the College of Forestry at the University of Washington.

Linda grew up in Rochester, New York, USA. Since the early 1800's. Rochester has been known both as the Flour City and the Flower City because of its rich history of wheat growing, many nurseries and seed businesses. In the first half of the 20th century, A. P. Saunders propagated many new kinds of peonies that are still popular today. The area along Lake Ontario is a productive fruit orchard region. Harris Seeds and Crosman's Seeds still operate in Rochester. The Highland Lilac Gardens offer 400 different varieties of lilacs. The Monroe County Park system is rich with legacies from the early 1900's when dedicated horticulturists propagated new varieties of butternut, hickory and walnut to name a few.

She has worked for her in-law's at Goldsmith Nursery in Edmonds, Washington, Lawyer Nursery in Plains, Montana, Lima Greenhouses in Spokane, Washington, and Aspen Nursery in Post Falls, Idaho.
